We’re excited to announce the 2023 EO Sydney University Learn Arounds launch! Learn Arounds are immersive off-site learning adventures that spark your creativity and foster deeper connections. Get ready to step out of the conference room and immerse yourself in an exciting hands-on learning adventure that bridges theory with real-life experiences. Discover the captivating human stories that breathe life into each location, as we invite you to "Play it Forward."

All Learn Arounds will depart from the Hyatt Regency on Thursday, 30 November at 1:30 pm. They will arrive back at the Hyatt Regency at approximately 5:00 pm.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Registered members and their fully registered guests may sign-up for ONE (1) Learn Around per person. Please be sure to include the full names of both parties when registering.
  • All Learn Arounds have limited space and require pre-registration. They are made available on a first come, first serve basis and there is no waitlist.
  • Learn Arounds are complimentary to EO Sydney University participants and are considered an integral part of the learning programme.

1. Aboriginal weaving workshop and business journey with Speaking in Colour founder, Cherie Johnson (45 pax capacity)

This experience will combine intentional mindfulness with Aboriginal weaving methodology, encouraging reflection on the past to shape the future. As a participant, you'll receive an exclusive weaving starter kit that opens the doors to a hands-on adventure. Cherie Johnson, a Gamilaroi and Weilwun woman in Newcastle, NSW, is known for her roles as an Aboriginal arts and education consultant. She is founder of Speaking in Colour, and an active Awabakal community member. She holds a Diploma in Teaching from the University of Newcastle, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Sydney, and is a PhD candidate focusing on urban Aboriginal women's cultural reconnection. Cherie is also a respected lecturer at the University of Newcastle, an artist, author, and entrepreneur. She serves on various boards, emphasizing business success for positive social impact in local communities.
