Event Information

What is the Global Leadership Conference (GLC)?

For decades, EO’s Global Leadership Conference (GLC) has played a critical role in defining leadership paths, serving as a stage for success and significance within the EO ecosystem.

GLC is the organization’s flagship event and empowers Member Leaders with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to excel in their new Chapter Leadership roles. Alongside leadership training, GLC provides a moment for members from across the world to engage with thought leaders, make life-enhancing connections with other members, and unleash their potential.

Why should I attend GLC?

GLC is the EO event of the year. It is an opportunity to learn and engage with fellow members across the world!

You will have access to ground-breaking learning opportunities with thought leaders, as well as opportunities to network with like-minded members through MyEO Events, connect with businesses through EOxpo, and network one-on-one in-person or through the Swapcard platform.

Attendees also have the option to explore the incredible city of Singapore.

What do I need to know about attending in person?

All information about accommodation, visas, transportation, and more information around attending in Singapore can be found here.

Will the sessions be available after GLC?

Yes. Select speakers and sessions from 2024 GLC will be available on the EO Learning Platform after the event. Access will be exclusive to EO Members and EO Staff. Some content will be available for a limited time.

What is the format of 2024 GLC? How will it be different from previous years?

2024 GLC will be an in-person experience in Singapore. The three-day event will offer in-person networking and learning experiences that help EO Members connect, develop, and grow.

GLC will have Chapter Officer Training at its core. In 2024, training will take place over the course of the event and will be designed for Member Leaders from around the world who have volunteered to serve in a leadership capacity the next year. This will allow Chapter Board Members to learn from their peers and be fully prepared to deliver impact and value for their fellow members.

Who is invited to attend?

Registration is now open to incoming Chapter Officers and Regional Council Members. Those members can register here.

If non-officer EO Members want to attend in-person, any remaining available spaces will be opened to general members on Wednesday, 21 February 2024 at 9:00 am EST at a cost of US$1200 per person.

Members are welcome to bring a Spouse/Life Partner (SLP) at a cost of US$1200 per person.

I am not an EO Member. Can I attend?

GLC is only open to EO Members and their Spouse/Life Partner (SLP). SLPs can be registered by an EO Member during their registration.

How much does it cost?

GLC is complimentary for six (6) Chapter Officers per chapter. If more than six (6) Chapter Officers from any one (1) chapter attend, there is a fee of US$1200 per person. If Chapter Staff attend GLC, their registration counts towards the overall total of Chapter Officers per chapter.

If non-officer EO Members and/or SLPs want to attend, there will be a cost of US$1200 per person. General membership seats will be released on Wednesday, 21 February 2024 at 9:00 am EST.

Who constitutes Member Leaders that can attend?

Tier 1 leaders (Global Board, Regional Chairs, Portfolio/Change Chairs), Regional Council Members, and Incoming Chapter Officers are invited to attend.

Can Regional Council Experts attend GLC?

There is no official role for Regional Experts at 2024 GLC. Experts are welcome to attend 2024 GLC at a cost of US$1200 per person. If a region chooses to send an Expert to 2024 GLC, it can be arranged for the region to subsidize the registration fee. In this case, please reach out to [email protected] to coordinate registration.

Will simultaneous interpretation be available during the event?

Yes. Simultaneous interpretation will be available based on minimum requirements. The experience will be translated into EO’s official languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Japanese. Interpretation requests must be made through registration by 1 March 2024 for any of these languages.

Why is there no virtual access to 2024 GLC?

As an in-person organization, we are focused on investing all our resources into in-person Chapter Officer Training, learning, and connections. We hope that you will be able to join us in-person to take advantage of the unique opportunities that GLC provides.

GLC Timing

Is EO aware that the dates of GLC overlap with the first few days of Passover? If so, why did EO schedule GLC during these dates?

EO recognizes that the dates of GLC represent a conflict for Jewish members who would like to be at GLC, but also want to be home with their families for this important holiday. With the complex scheduling of host venues, hotel rooms, speakers, and other considerations such as the narrow window of time when incoming chapter officers are required to receive training, and the large size of our international group, our options were extremely limited. These complexities gave EO little choice but to overlap with the first few days of Passover in 2024. We regret any difficulty the timing may cause some EO members and will do our best to accommodate your participation. For those unable to attend GLC in April, we will offer recordings of speakers’ keynotes as well as Chapter Officer Training sessions online, in May 2024.

Are you going to change the dates for 2024 GLC?

No. We do not plan to reschedule this event. Due to the size of our group, the complex scheduling of contracted venues, speakers, hotel room blocks, etc. we do not have flexibility to change dates or location. We regret any difficulty this may cause some of our members and hope for your understanding.

Will there be dietary accommodations made for Jewish members attending GLC?

Yes. Upon request, EO has always offered accommodations in global events for members with dietary restrictions, such as for allergies or religious needs (Kosher and Halal options included), provided their preferences are indicated in advance through the dietary form during event registration. The 2024 GLC event registration is now available to incoming Chapter Officers and Regional Council members here. Please indicate your needs well in advance of GLC to allow for adequate planning.

Are there any Jewish synagogues or Kosher restaurants and markets in Singapore where EO members might worship, gather, or shop?

The website for Singapore’s Jewish Welfare Board, which support’s the Jewish community in Singapore, offers helpful information about local synagogues, Kosher markets, restaurants, and special events that may be useful for Jewish EO members observing Passover during our Global Leadership Conference. We are aware of two nearby synagogues in Singapore, which are both located within a 10-minute drive from our event venue:

  • Maghain Aboth Synagogue, 24/26 Waterloo St, Singapore 187968
  • Chesed-El Synagogue, 2 Oxley Rise, Singapore 238693

Is EO planning to host any special event for Jewish members attending GLC during Passover, such as a Seder?

EO respects and celebrates the rich diversity and cultural traditions of our global community. Due to our status as a non-religious organization, EO is not able to officially host a Seder. However, individual EO members are planning a MyEO Event during GLC with organizers from the Jewish community of Singapore, in what promises to be a memorable Seder dinner the evening of 22 April. For more information or to register, click here.

Will EO provide training for chapter officers who choose not to attend GLC?

Yes, Although Chapter Officer Training is intended primarily for in-person learning, as has been the standard over the last few years, EO will also offer virtual training for chapter officers who are not able to attend GLC. Each of the 13 chapter officer tracks will offer virtual makeup sessions for Chapter Officer Training in May 2024, with exact dates to be announced. We will provide a choice of morning or evening sessions and offer simultaneous interpretation services. All learning materials used on-site will be provided to those participating in virtual training and each track will have a Chapter Officer Guide available on EO’s Hub. Member-leaders who do not attend GLC in 2024 are encouraged to seek support during bi-monthly chapter officer calls throughout the year.

If I cannot attend GLC in 2024, will there still be a way for me to watch the mainstage keynote sessions?

Yes. While we will not be live-streaming GLC in 2024, we will be recording most of the guest speakers’ insightful and inspiring keynote talks and posting videos to the EO LMS (Learning Management System) for on-demand viewing later. This material will be made available exclusively to EO members after GLC. There is no live-stream of GLC this year because the decision was made to prioritize in-person learning, connection, and development for EO’s community of chapter officers and regional leaders.

When was the current list of blackout dates last reviewed and approved?

A finite number of 20 “blackout dates” was reviewed and approved by the EO Global Board of Directors in 2019, with direction given to avoid scheduling global EO events during these dates. EO’s planning team reviews the calendar of events to avoid these blackout dates in a planning process that looks ahead for one-to-two years and tries to avoid known timing conflicts. EO has considered all major faiths in developing and updating its list of “do not plan” dates (blackout dates).

Is EO open to reviewing these ‘blackout dates’ and considering possible changes to it?

This alignment was considered open-ended, with no firm schedule for further review. EO’s global board of directors will be reviewing the current blackout dates for global EO events. The many diverse cultures and countries around the world in which EO serves entrepreneurs means there are competing holidays throughout the year, but some have more spiritual or cultural significance than others. EO differentiates holidays in the following ways: (1) “Do not plan”, (2) “Try to Avoid”, (3) “Other” (regionally significant events to avoid).

For any further questions or concerns, please email: [email protected] Thank you.

Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system is one of the fastest ways to roam around the city. The extensive rail network means that most of Singapore’s key attractions are within walking distance from an MRT station. Singapore’s trains and stations are accessible to wheelchair users and the visually impaired, as well as families with strollers.
