Dear EO Member-Leaders and Chapter Staff,
We are writing to share an important update to the registration policy for the 2024 Global Leadership Conference (GLC) in Singapore.
With more than 18,000 members in 224 chapters of varying sizes, we recognize that as chapters grow, their boards must often expand to meet growing membership needs. Our goal is to help as many Chapter Officers as possible prepare for their leadership positions during highly focused training in the collaborative, multi-language setting offered at GLC. The peer connection and Chapter Officer Training that our members gain during GLC is a critical aspect of leadership development.
During the February Board meeting, the Global Board reviewed EO’s long-standing GLC registration policy of offering six (6) complimentary Chapter Officer registrations per chapter for role training. The result of our review was a decision to invest morein your leadership and more in our chapters’ success. We did this by ratifying a new tiered structure that allots complimentary tickets for GLC registrations, based on representative chapter size.
Every EO chapter will still receive a minimum of six (6) complimentary Chapter Officer registrations. There is no change to that. Effective immediately, the number of complimentary registrations per chapter is as follows:
- Chapters with 99 or fewer members: 6 tickets
- Chapters with 100-149 members: 8 tickets
- Chapters with 150-199 members: 10 tickets
- Chapters with 200+ members: 13 tickets
We believe this is a positive investment in our EO chapters and we commit to continue evaluating how to best serve you each year.
Incoming Chapter Officer registration is open now on the GLC website. Registration opens to the EO general membership on 21 February. We look forward to seeing you SHINE and share your light with all of us in Singapore.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why did the Global Board decide to increase the number of complimentary registrations?
As EO chapters grow, so do their chapter boards. 30% of our chapters have more than 100 members and we do not want to de-incentivize chapters from growing or sending Chapter Officers to GLC. The Global Board has been discussing how the organization can address chapter needs that vary by chapter size. Increasing complimentary access to Chapter Officer training is just one way we can accommodate larger chapters. We believe this sliding scale is an equitable approach to support all chapters.
Can my chapter send more than our allotment of complimentary Chapter Officers to GLC?
Yes. Any Chapter Officer registration ABOVE the complimentary allotment will be required to pay a US$1200 per person registration fee. This applies to all chapters. Chapters may send one chapter officer or chapter manager per training track. The only exception to this rule is the President Elect-Elect, who is invited to attend the President’s track in addition to the President-Elect. Other Elect-Elect positions will not be invited to attend GLC Chapter Officer Training Expenses not covered by the complimentary or paid event registration fee include: air transport, hotel accommodations, optional activities, personal incidentals.
Do chapters have to pay for Chapter Officer registrations upfront?
No. There has been no change to the registration fee policy. Anyone registering as an incoming chapter officer or chapter staff does not pay at the time of registration. Invoices for those registrations are sent by the finance team after GLC. We will base the number of complimentary registrations allotted to each chapter based on their member count as of 22 April 2024.
Will this policy change in allotments for Chapter Officers continue beyond the 2024 GLC?
The Global Board devised the tiered structure for GLC ticket allocations as open-ended. If there are additional revisions in the allotment policy in future, those will be communicated with our chapter leaders.

Chapter Officer Training Information
Chapter Officer Training is an annual investment in the health of EO chapters that provides foundational training to help Chapter Officers excel in their leadership roles. In these sessions, incoming Chapter Officers gain the skills needed to serve their chapters in their designated board positions, discover tools to make their work easier, and share best practices with other local board Chairs from around the globe.
Chapter Officer Training is designed exclusively for incoming Chapter Officers. If you are not an incoming Chapter Officer, you will not need to attend Chapter Officer Training.
Depending on chapter size, a certain number of complimentary allocations for Chapter Officer Training will be allocated on a sliding scale for member-leaders’ registration at GLC.EO will cover their $1200 registration cost.
This sliding scale of allocations replaces EO’s prior policy of limiting complimentary tickets to just six per chapter, regardless of size. Effective immediately, the number of registrations allocated to chapters is as follows:
- Chapters with 99 or fewer members: 6 tickets
- Chapters with 100-149 members: 8 tickets
- Chapters with 150-199 members: 10 tickets
- Chapters with 200+ members: 13 tickets
For any additional officers beyond those allocations, there will be an out-of-pocket cost of US$1200 per person. As soon as possible, eligible Chapter Officers are strongly encouraged to register their GLC 2024 attendance to ensure their place at GLC, since participation will soon be open to all paying EO members.

Some tracks may include additional virtual training or other materials as part of their teachings. The Chapter Officer Training team will be in touch with pre-work and other resources in the lead up to the in-person training in April.
Individual tracks will not be recorded for later viewing. The in-person Chapter Officer Training experience is designed for incoming Chapter Officers to network, connect, and learn from one another.
Will there be a training track for Chapter Staff at GLC?
There will not be a track for Chapter Staff at 2024 GLC. Chapter Staff attending GLC in-person, in place of a Chapter Officer, may attend that Officer’s assigned track, with the exception of the President’s track.
EO decided to align Chapter Staff training at the regional level to allow for more focused training and connections. However, Chapter Staff who attend GLC are welcome to coordinate a time amongst themselves to meet while at the event.
Are Board Chairs who do not have a track at GLC able to attend another track?
Only the Chapter Officers who are assigned to a track should attend that training track. Other activities will be available for General Members and Spouses/Life Partners who are unable to join Chapter Officer Training. Even without Chapter Officer Training, participating members and Spouses/Life Partners will enjoy equal access to the organizational messaging onstage, as well as any of the learning opportunities around Singapore.
