Pre tours in Oaxaca
Hierve El Agua Route Full Day Tour
Wednesday, 25 October, 8:00am – 7/8:00pm
Located high in the mountains, Hierve el Agua is a series of thermal pools and calcified waterfalls (or petrified waterfalls) in Oaxaca State. The hot springs and thermal pools are located at the top of the site, and you can see the waterfall from there. You’ll visit several sites along the way. Santa María del Tule to see the tree with the widest trunk in the world. Visit with a wool rug artisan in Teotitlán del Valle and drive through Mitla, the main ceremonial center and “place of the dead” in Monte Albán. Then you’ll arrive in in Hierve El Agua for a visit. Note, some of the locations are limited access this time of year due to community rules, including cold water pools and the lowest part of the waterfall. On the way back, you’ll stop by the Mezcal Factory for a small tasting of mezcal.

MyEO Dinner hosted by Oaxaca native, Samuel Canela, at Criollo Restaurante

Enrique Olvera of Pujol fame has teamed up with fellow chef Luis Arellano and architect Javier Sánchez to bring his brand of cookery genius to the foodie city of Oaxaca. The focus at Criollo – open since mid-2016 – is on local and seasonal ingredients to create authentic Oaxaqueña cuisine. The tasting menu changes daily but always includes snacks, a salad, catch of the day and desserts. Located within a stylish, bohemian UNESCO heritage house, guests enter the courtyard dining room via the kitchen as tortillas are freshly prepared on one of four wood-burning ovens. Comfort food classics include tamale filled with Oaxacan cheese and homemade mole.

Cenote Half Day Tour

These wells, to which they gave two fundamental uses: they were sources of life for the fresh water they contained, but they were also ideal places to make offerings and sacrifice people as a way to honor the gods. Prepare your bathing suit and your best dives because on this day we will get to visit 4 cenotes and swim in their deep and crystalline waters. The day will end with a typical lunch in a local restaurant.
