Dive deep into the heart of Mexico during the 2023 EO Mexico Exploration. Feel the strong sense of pride, perseverance and gratitude of the Mexican people. Among many things that make the region’s people special, they celebrate with vibrant festivals, honor the living and the dead, fight passionately for their rights and spread color and kindness everywhere they go. The region is experiencing a cultural resurgence as the younger generations are reviving the indigenous traditions, seen as exotic and romantic.

In Oaxaca, ancient rituals have survived like nowhere else in Mexico, and yet modernity is ever-present, with chic hotels, foodie restaurants and grungy cocktail bars scattered across the city. While staying in the center of the city, we will learn some of the lessons of the past while weaving in modern Oaxaca. We will meet local designers and artists elevating the style of Oaxaca and young entrepreneurs who are reinventing their centuries old crafts. We’ll taste the fusion of old and new during dine arounds, at a mole tasting and al fresco at a modern, female owned agave farm.

Continuing on to Mérida, we’ll marvel at some of the best ruins and cenotes in the world. We’ll visit with some of the rural villagers, to cook, play and dance with them before dining in candle light at one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Chichén Itzá. We’ll indulge in the warm sunshine while horseback riding, hiking and swimming. On our last day, we have a special treat, we’ll be joined in our final social by local EOers in their opening night of LACademy for an epic Day of the Dead party.
