Registration for all off-site activities will close on 13 December

Important: There are three days of off-site activities: 20-23 February.

These activities are open to members and their registered guests. Please register for one off-site activity per off-site day.

Please read these important notes about off-site activities:

  • Registered members and their guests may sign-up for one off-site activity per person per off-site day.
  • All off-site activities have limited space and are first come, first served.
  • Some activities may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
  • Some off-site activities may require a payment voucher and are indicated in the description.
  • All user-pay activities are non-refundable.
  • Members and their guests that sign-up for the same activity will be assigned to the same group.
  • There are no wait-lists for sold out activities.
  • No meals are included in the off-sites unless noted.

Return to the Temples

Departure time: 2:00 pm

Are you excited to explore the temples in Cambodia? You will visit the temples this morning to watch the sunrise! And if that’s not enough, join the afternoon off-site activity to explore more temples. We will walk through the Angkor Thom Complex, exploring with more than 200 enigmatic smiling faces and other early carvings on 54 towers. Afterward, we will continue on to the Ta Prohm Temple. The Ta Prohm Temple has been reclaimed by the jungle as giant tree trunks intertwine through ancient stone seamlessly with a rugged texture that is captivating. So do not forget your camera!

Countryside Quad Bike Adventure

You will discover the beautiful Cambodian countryside during this quad bike adventure. There is much more to Siem Reap than Angkor Wat! Get ready for a fast-paced ride through the villages, rice paddies, plantations and temples of Siem Reap Province with an expert guide as you learn more about the country and its friendly people.

Cook like a Khmer Chef

While traditional Khmer (Cambodian) cuisine is prepared with a small number of ingredients, the ingredients have an array of textures, aromas and flavors that are light and subtle. Rice is an integral part of Vietnamese cuisine and nearly a sacred component of Khmer Culture, along with fish and shellfish. You will visit the local market with your chef to learn about Khmer ingredients before getting to work in the kitchen and you will also cook and sample several local dishes, so eat a light lunch!

Friday Midday, 21 February: Ho Chi Minh City

Historic Cu Chi Tunnels Tour

Departure time: Immediately upon landing in Ho Chi Minh City at approximately 10:30 am
Return time: 4:00 pm

Travel back in time to explore and experience the treacherous Cu Chi Tunnels outside of Saigon, used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam-American War. As you tour the underground network, your guide will provide insight into the Vietnamese guerrillas’ ingenious methods to remain undetected. Trap doors, booby traps, air filtration systems and more aided the Viet Cong for years and helped prolong the war with the Americans.

You will depart for the tour immediately upon landing in Ho Chi Minh City and will be provided with to-go meals and snacks. After the tour, speedboats will transport you down the Saigon River into downtown Saigon.

Note: The Cu Chi Tunnels have been widened in places for visitors. However, they can be dark, hot and cramped for some members.

Sunday Morning, 23 February: Hoi An

Countryside Vespa Tour

Departure time: 9:00 am

From downtown Hoi An, you will ride along the river and over the bridge to Cam Kim Island’s beautiful countryside. Next, you will make stops at an ancestral house and a traditional boat builder’s yard before setting off to explore the sleepy island villages. From there, you will zig-zag through a breathtaking landscape of rice paddies and farmlands as you learn about the art of mat weaving and farming from local families. What’s more, you will learn how to make—and eat—the perfect Banh Dap (rice cracker). The day will end with a ride into a small village. We will stop at the local café for coffee and learn the art of coffee roasting before heading back to the resort.

Be a Fisherman

Enjoy a wide range of experiences on this eco-tour, from learning traditional fishing techniques to paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boats along the tranquil coconut palm flanked waterways. Meet and fish with local fishermen in a nearby village as they teach you centuries old techniques.

Cycling to Tra Que Herb Village

Experience a day of living and working with the local people in surrounding villages. You will set out from downtown Hoi An by bicycle to visit with and learn from the farmers at Thanh Dong organic farm. It’s the first and only organic farm in Hoi An. At a local farmer’s home, they will teach you more about the methods of chemical-free farming and its positive effects on the environment before making traditional cakes with them. Before returning to the resort, you will enjoy a relaxing herbal foot bath ahead of your bike ride through the beautiful countryside.

The spa at the Four Seasons Resort, the Nam Hai is beautifully perched over a lotus pond and guided by the renowned Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh’s. His teachings foster not only wellness but also compassion. The spa was named the Global Wellness Resort of the Year in 2018 for their Zen master inspired spa. Treat yourself to a one-hour massage and enjoy the relaxation spaces and spa facilities. Massage times will be assigned by the spa staff.
