Z-CANCELLED: The Game of Kabaddi

28 October 2017 —Depart 8:30am, Return 4:00pm
Off-Site Activites

CANCELLED. Unfortunately, due to lack of interest, this off-site has been cancelled.

An ancient sport that originated in India, Kabaddi combines tag, wrestling, rugby and chanting. The sport is played between two teams each occupying its own half of the court. Each team takes turns to send a “raider” into the opposing team’s half and earns points if the raider manages to touch the opposing team’s members and return to the home half, all while continuously chanting the word “kabaddi” without losing breath. However, if the raider is tackled and prevented from returning, the opposing team gets the point.

Kabaddi is gaining worldwide popularity. This is perhaps one of the few sports to combine yoga with strenuous physical activity. The game calls for agility, good lung capacity, muscular co-ordination, presence of mind and quick responses.

Show us what you’ve got! Bring out the sports lover in you as you enter the arena to learn and play the sport. Learn about the various facets and strategies at the Gachibowli Stadium from some of the experts of the sport. Then you’ll surely be hungry for a casual lunch in the stadium!
