Location: La Llojta de Mar

La Llotja de Mar was built in the 14th century and restored with a neo-classical style in late 1700s. Beautiful elements of its medieval Catalan Gothic history can be found inside. La Llotja was originally used as a goods warehouse and commodity exchange, and over the centuries became the perennial hub of Catalan commerce and trade. It currently houses the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and a magnificent collection of sculptures and paintings.

We’ll begin with cocktails in the elegant open-air courtyard. From there, you’re welcome to explore the interior art collections with their expert guides. Then we’ll move inside to the medieval Contracting Hall for a seated dinner with lively entertainment.

Location: National Portrait Gallery
Part of the Smithsonian Institution, the National Portrait Gallery is a historic art museum housed in the Old Patent Office, a Greek revival building from the mid-1800’s. Its exhibits focus on images of famous Americans, including the newly refurbished exhibit of America’s Presidents, the nation’s only complete collection of presidential portraits outside the White House.

Take the evening to wander the galleries, learning about American history and culture. We’ll mingle in the Kogod Courtyard under the elegant wavy glass–and–steel canopy designed by London–based architects Foster + Partners. Sample a variety of popular DC classic dishes and cocktails while taking in the beautiful architecture and artwork with a modern EO twist.
