Global Leadership Conference (April 28 – May 1) – We are truly sorry to announce that 2020 Global Learning Conference (GLC) and GSEA Finals have been cancelled. Due to the major uncertainties our diverse, global membership and staff face with the unpredictable spread of COVID-19, we cannot ensure a positive and healthy event experience for all. We must stay focused on our top priority: the health and safety of our members and staff and their respective families. For more information, contact [email protected].

EO Global Citizen of the Year Award

Nominations and applications are open for the Global Citizen of the Year Award. This annual prize is awarded to one EO member whose innovative and effective approach transcends borders, changes lives, and sets an example for us all.

Previous winners have helped orphans in Panama, removed tons of plastic from the Pacific and revolutionized healthcare in Africa. We know there are hundreds of other members with stories just as incredible. Apply or nominate a fellow member today!

Apply here: https://surveys.eonetwork.org/view.php?id=1167590

Applications will be accepted through 6 March. The winner will receive a free trip to the EO chapter of his or her choice.

Marketing & Communications Awards

The Global Communications Committee (GCC) is accepting online applications for the EO Marketing & Communication Awards. Each category requires a separate application. We encourage you to apply for more than one category below. All applications will be judged based on:

1. Strategic Vision
2. Quality of Work
3. Execution and Results

Awards for 2020 will be given in the following categories:

  • Best Internal Awareness: This award recognizes the most impactful tasks of the Marketing and Communications Chair. He or she creates the atmosphere for positive member engagement, satisfaction, retention and renewal. Are you the voice of your chapter and the local voice of EO? Share how you reflect EO’s core values by communicating and engaging with members, and through promoting events and member benefits.
  • Best External Awareness: The recipient of this award attracts new members and strategic partners, as well as protects and promotes the EO brand. His or her efforts ensure the success of their chapter and the organization as a whole. What connections have you fostered with outside organizations, and how do you support your chapter’s Strategic Alliances? Which social media platforms do you use to promote and protect the EO brand?
  • Marketing & Communications Leadership: Do you know a Marketing and Communications Chair that stands out among his or her peers? This is your opportunity to nominate a leader in the Marketing & Communications field who “makes a mark” in their chapter and beyond.

Marketing & Communications Award deadlines:

  • 6 March: Applications and all samples due
  • GLC Cape Town: Winners announced

Chapter Staff of the Year Award

The 2020 Chapter Staff of the Year (CSTY) Award nomination for all EO Chapters is now open. Nominations by one of the Chapter Board members must be completed and submitted no later than 24 February at 11:59pm Eastern Time (US) by filling this form https://surveys.eonetwork.org/view.php?id=923430

The Chapter Staff of the Year (CSTY) Award recognizes and celebrates three EO Chapter Staff each year for excellence in their role as demonstrated by their commitment to EO, their overall support of their chapter, and continued pursuit of chapter excellence & growth.

The grand prize winner will receive a professional development fund with a value of no more than US$1,500, and two runner up winners to receive a professional development fund with a value of no more than US $750 each.

Total time to complete this form: 10-15 minutes

Nominating Criteria
The Chapter Staff of the Year Award must be:

1) Nominated by a member of his or her chapter board

2) All Chapter Staff will be considered provided the nominating EO chapter currently employs them. However, if the nomination was submitted and the Chapter Staff decided to pursue another career outside of the chapter after the nomination, the entry becomes null and void. Please make sure to notify the regional teams if this instance occurs

3) The awards will be based on outstanding actions during the previous calendar year (1 January – 31 December 2019) and will be announced at the 2020 Global Leadership Conference (GLC) in Cape Town. Chapters may choose to nominate more than one of their Chapter Staff. However, only one nomination is allowed per Chapter Staff per Chapter as there are some cases where more than one chapter shares the same Chapter Staff (the EO Chapters could decide among them who will submit the nomination entry). The deadline to submit a nomination is 24 February at 11:59 pm Eastern US.

Nomination Process
Each nomination must be submitted using the online form. If an incomplete form is received before the 24 February 2019, 11:59pm Eastern US deadline, the nominating officer will be contacted to complete the form correctly by the deadline.

After the nomination period closes, the Manager, Chapter Staff Community, Senior Director, Membership Operations, VP Chapter Health and Regional Development, and the Regional Team Leads (referred to as the Selection Committee) will examine the potential candidates. The Manager, Chapter Staff Community, will ensure that all of the nominations follow the process guidelines. The Selection Committee will identify the final award recipient and two runners-up by rating each selection criteria category on a seven-point Likert scale by 2 March 2020 and will forward the names to the GLC Committee.

Each nomination must provide specific examples of how a Chapter Staff has demonstrated exemplary service, fostered greater chapter growth and health, and showcased EO’s core values (Boldly Go!, Thirst for Learning, Make a Mark, Trust and Respect, and Cool) in a way that sets the bar for other Chapter Staff. Supplemental documents such as photographs, videos, etc. are not required, but are encouraged (videos and photos may be used by EO for future creative or promotional efforts).

Criteria for Judging the Open-Ended Question, “What has the chapter staff accomplished in 2019 to enhance your chapter?” is broken down into:

  • Primary Duties (communications, Board relations, event management, and operations) – 30%
  • (Be Bold) Exceptional accomplishments – 20%
  • (Make a Mark) Impact- 20%
  • (Trust and Respect) Chapter health/growth -20%
  • (Cool) world-class experience -5%
  • (Thirst for Learning) Professional development – 5%
