[:en]Everyday hundreds of people walk past a green door in the Gesundbrunnen underground railway station, unaware that within lies a subterranean labyrinth full of history just waiting to be experienced.
Berlin was the nerve centre of the Third Reich and therefore one of the main targets for allied bombing during World War II. On this tour, our expert guides will lead you in exploring one of the few remaining bunkers, as it was left after the war. There, you will learn more about the life of the average Berlin citizen during the air-raids that destroyed up to 80 % of the city’s centre. Travelling through the twisting passages and rooms, you will also see countless artefacts from the war that have been buried for decades. Additionally, by looking into the development of the city’s subway and sewerage systems as well its former pneumatic post, we will provide you with an insight the 160 year old underground history of Berlin.

Deutsche Bank Art Tour and Discussion on “Art and Value”
MyEO Event
[:en][:en][:en][:en][:en]Registration Deadline: 15 April
Event Contact: Sebastian Schmitt
Art Works. An exclusive insight into the Deutsche Bank art collection: Group tour followed by an open discussion and an outlook for the art market led by the Wealth Management team’s art expert.
Art works featured on 60 floors. The refurbished Deutsche Bank Towers are not only state of the art in terms of sustainability. They house a selection of artworks that reflects the new orientation of the Deutsche Bank Collection. Even when the Towers first opened in the mid 1980s the art concept set standards: From Beuys to the neo-expressive “Junge Wilde” painters – a tour was akin to a trip through German art history after 1945.
Today the corporate collection is as global as Deutsche itself. In recent decades, not only has the business map grown, but also the art map. In Asia, South America and Africa, vital art scenes have emerged – each with their distinct form of expression. As before, each floor of the Towers is devoted to one artist; around 100 international positions from more than 40 countries are on view. The art is arranged by region. While the young German and European avant-garde is presented in Tower A, artists from Asia, America, the Middle East and Africa can be experienced in Tower B.[:][:][:][:][:]

German Engineering - Behind the Scenes
MyEO Event
[:en][:en][:en]Registration Deadline: 30 April
Event Contact: Eduardo Fernández
This is an opportunity for a small group of EO members, especially those with an interest in engineering, manufacturing and high tech, to meet and interact intimately with the leadership of an inspiring company that grew from under 20 employees to more than 700 under the current family generation. We will arrive at 10am at Bender headquarters (about 1 hour train ride from Frankfurt), meet the CEO privately, tour the factory and headquarters, and finish with lunch with the company owners and leadership in the company cafeteria.
For more than 70 years, Bender GmbH has been a worldwide leader in providing electrical safety equipment to all types of industries: from ships, marinas and offshore platforms to electrical car charging facilities, railway equipment and hospitals. Bender is a German family business with over 750 employees in 50 offices around the world. A co-owner, along with a senior engineer, will give us a tour of the main factory – a state of the art production facility in Grünberg.

Schloß Vollrads – Wine Tasting and Dinner
MyEO Event
[:en][:en][:en][:en][:en][:en][:en]Registration Deadline: 1 April
Event Contact: Godelef Kuehl
Schloss Vollrads, one of the oldest wineries in Germany, is situated above Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau, attractively nestled in the midst of this cultivated landscape. The residential tower of the Riesling wine estate is visible from afar as it stands above the building complex and the vineyards.
Here the Barons of Greiffenclau, old members of the nobility in Lorraine, began cultivating grapes and trading wine more than 800 years ago. All 80 hectares of vineyards around Schloss Vollrads descend down to the Rhine in a southerly direction. So Schloß Vollrads has the best condition to make unique and authentic wines.
Today Schloss Vollrads is a modern, outward-looking winery. We will start our visit with a walkabout wine tasting, where we learn more about wine making, get insights in a 800 years long history of the castle and enjoy the magnificient gardens. Finishing the afternoon we`ll get together in the gardens, walk through the wineyards or just obstruct the view over the Rheingau landscape. The evening starts with a reception at cavalier house, followed by a 3 course dinner paired with the best Riesling wines Schloß Vollrads has to offer. Pampered and primed our bus brings us back to Fraknkfurt.[:][:][:][:][:][:][:]
Tour of 8th Generation Family Business
MyEO Event
[:en]Registration Deadline: 31 March
Event Contact: Harald von Waitz
Narratives from today’s generation, head of the family and EO member
Get to know a family business in the 8th generation of successors. You will get to know how a business needed to change and re-invent itself to build such a successful history. Experience some Bavarian culinary specialties and enjoy a good mug of beer!
The Waitz-family started entrepreneurship with Jakob-Sigismund in 1744 with the production of salt. At the same time he made a career as secretary of state. Promotion to nobility by the Duke of Hessen in 1764 added to his social status. With the world changing the generations had to re-invent the family business a few times. After 8 generations the family is now holding and running two manufacturing companies producing machines for the hose industry and mobile power generation systems with just over 200 employees. Real Estate (houses, forestry, agriculture) developed to be a sustainable side business. Emmerichshofen, acquired in the early 19th century, is one of two country estates of the family.
Be invited by todays member of the family line to learn more about the need for re-invention with a changing world over 250 years. See a historic german estate with a modern economic basis. A tour of the house and grounds that have in part been developed to a holiday resort will end up with the visit to the family-owned Bavarian Wirtshaus with Schnitzel and Beer.[:]
