The Grand Slam Explorer

Mostafa Salameh -Born in Kuwait to Palestinian refugee parents who originates from Ramallah – the Grand Slam Explorer, Skied last April Greenland from north to south. A long tough expedition which lasted for 30 days in severe weather conditions, temperature that went down to -35, and lots environmental threats and challenges.

Mostafa Salameh is the first Jordanian and one of 15 people in the world to Complete the Explorers Grand Slam (Seven Summits including Mount Everest and the two Poles). Salameh seeks to promote a positive global image of the Middle East and to inspire the next generation of Arab youth to believe in “their” impossible dreams.

Mostafa’s real exposure to adventure was exactly when one morning he woke up having a dream that he reached the summit of Everest calling for prayer (Athan) and praying. A voice from the inside kept shouting: “Don’t dream your life, live your dream!” until he had to listen to that voice. And yes, it was just a dream that changed his life, from a chubby, heavy smoker to a healthy fit guy, from a food & Beverage Manager to a mountaineer, from a zero background in mountain climbing to a peaks’ conqueror.

He changed his ways, his lifestyle, and his thoughts. He entered a world that is unknown to him by all means.

Climbing mountains is not the only passion Mostafa holds dear to his heart; Mostafa is determined to serve as an inspirational role model for youth that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

He is a Jordanian Living Hero whose story is taught in schools, as part of the English language curriculum for grades 4 & 12. He is an experienced motivational speaker who delivers popular speeches about his passion for his sport of mountaineering.

Many organizations and educational entities from Europe the Arab region, and Asia approach him for motivational speeches to address their students and employees, among others there are Ireland, Scotland, Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait and Malaysia.

Mostafa also works on raising awareness for cancer, working with the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) with patient activities and in fundraising. In 2012 he launched the “From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point for Cancer” initiative LH4C. Through his expeditions he was able to raise 2 Million Dollars for KHCC.

He also initiated many other humanitarian expeditions to raise awareness and fundraise for different causes such handicapped challenges, education in Gaza and many more.

Mostafa was knighted by King Abdullah of Jordan in 2008 and in 2016, and was Jordan’s Sportsman of the Year 2009; moreover, he is invited to participate in carrying the Torch in S. Korea Olympics December 2017.

In March 2017 Mostafa’s Autobiography “Dreams of A Refugee” launched in the UK, then in Jordan, later in different countries, including India, UAE and Austria. The Arabic version will be launched in October 2017 in Jordan.

Now at the age of 47, Mostafa’s dream continues: His next goal is to run the 777 marathon challenge.

Preparing for this challenging and completing it needs a lot of training, dedication, Sacrifice, and specialized.
