Learning

The Entrepreneurial Masters Programme (EMP) curriculum is designed around five pillars of building strong, sustainable, entrepreneurial businesses. The pillars include:

  • People
  • Strategy
  • Finance
  • Leadership
  • Execution

The focus on people is how to recruit, hire and retain quality talent. This pillar is based on Jim Collins’ premise of having the right people in the right seats on the proverbial bus. Crucial to building your team is the creation of an amazing company culture. The two together – great people and great culture – create a harmonious and synergistic environment.

Developing a solid, meaningful strategy is the foundation upon which everything is built. The EMP helps attendees define core values and brand promise. The programme works to help you identify and leverage the factors unique to your business that can provide a significant market advantage over your competition. Clearly defining a vision of where you want your company to be in three to five years is the next step. You will focus on defining long term goals, as well as provisional ones.

Finance is addressed in a number of ways. You will learn from some of the top sales and marketing minds. In addition, the programme covers how to manage cash flow, and maximize value, while detailing different approaches on how to raise capital from innovative funding sources.

The EMP explores leadership by helping attendees understand their own distinctive styles. The programme examines how and when you should adapt your leadership style to meet the needs of your people. Personal development is a key part of the program; we’ll discuss how living a life of integrity and valuing ethical behavior (within yourself and your teams) are synonymous with being a strong and respected leader.

Execution is the point at which your people, culture and strategy come together. All the planning in the world is useless unless you put these things into motion. Over the course of the three years, the EMP hosts a variety of leading entrepreneurial experts who share best practices to help you create a roadmap of accountability and action.

The intense and dynamic emphasis on the five pillars is based on the entrepreneur who has dreams of getting his/her business to the next, and ultimately the highest, level. The EMP is an elite commitment to learning, and requires teamwork, flexibility and dedication to implementation.
