This tour has been cancelled due to lack of interest. If you would like more information about the cycling tours offered by Ciclisimo Classico, please feel free to visit their website www.ciclismoclassico.com or contact Joe Luchison at joe@ciclismoclassico.com.

EO Dirtbike Expedition

This EO Dirtbikers Expedition is arranged by KTM Adventure Tours, a subsidiary of leading dirt bike manufacturer, KTM.

Participants will have an opportunity to ride on varied terrain throughout the island of Ibiza, located some 100km off the shores of Spanish mainland, or 300km south-east of Barcelona. Ibiza is part of the Spanish Balearic Islands, famous for their mild weather, beaches and nightlife.

Riding adventures will be provided for all levels of off-road riding proficiency. The group will be split into subgroups of five or six people, depending on skills and physical condition, but folks will have plenty of opportunities to regroup and ride together. Each group will have a professional instructor and tour guide.

The tour will take place under the supervision of Klaus Kinigadner. Klaus was a professional motocross racer from 1980-1989. After a severe accident in 1989, he switched to supermoto and won numerous European titles between 1999 and 2002. He made it to #6 in the world championships.

We will stay at the same hotel for the entire tour and ride out during the day with several coffee and lunch breaks.

Lots of fun and sore muscles are guaranteed in this program! Please note this tour is not suited for participants without any on- or off-road motorcycle experience. All participants need a valid motorcycle drivers license.

Transportation From/To Barcelona

There are daily flights between Barcelona and Ibiza. You may also catch a flight to your international hub (e.g. Madrid) directly, without having to return via Barcelona. In addition, there are ships leaving Barcelona for Ibiza. We may also look into sharing a sailing boat if there is enough interest.

Dirtbike Protective Clothing and Gear

Each participant will be responsible for bringing his or her own protective equipment. Please note that KTM will not let you ride unless you wear all of the required clothing and gear. This includes:

  • An off-road, full-face helmet is recommended. The lighter it is, the less strain there will be on your neck muscles.
  • Protective goggles equipped with a double lens that doesn’t fog up as easily.
  • A classic motocross chest protector or protector shirt protects your back, shoulders and upper body. Wear elbow guards and over those a cross shirt. It will be pretty warm in August, but please make sure to bring a light rain coat. Lined jackets with integrated protectors are less suitable for tours in the summer.
  • A kidney belt supports and relieves the strain on your back muscles.
  • Motocross gloves are best for off-road riding.
  • Cross-trousers of synthetic materials are robust and lightweight. Hip padding is recommended.
  • No one goes off-road without knee guards.
  • Robust (off-road) boots have prevented more than a few foot and ankle injuries.

Off-road riding can be very strenuous, which is why overly warm clothing (on-road, full-face helmets; leather pants; and jackets) is not recommended.
