Off-Site Activities offer the perfect chance to see your spectacular surroundings! You may select from a wide range of exhilarating activities, such as those listed below. Enjoy all that Barcelona has to offer and experience an afternoon like no other!

Off-site activity registration is now open. To register for your preferred off-site activity, please click here. Registration for off-site activities will close Friday, 18 September. Remaining spaces will be available for registration onsite at the EO Information Desk on 30 September. No waitlists will be created.

Helicopter Ride from Barcelona to Montserrat  -  Register Here

From the sea to the mountains, from the spires of Gaudi’s church Sagrada Familia to the Montserrat Abby, from the vibrant Mediterranean city to the holy mountain of Catalonia enjoy a panoramic helicopter ride passing by the Barcelona´s coast, going up to the Besos River area, and flying over Montserrat and back to Barcelona. The helicopters’ tour is a great opportunity to see the city coast and Montserrat mountain from the bird’s eye perspective.

Sky Dive – Freefall Over Costa Brava  -  Register Here

Who has never dreamed of the total freedom of flight without any other assistance, except from their own body? This dream is now a reality and within anybody´s reach. The Tandem parachute jump is the best alternative for those who want to enjoy the feeling of freefall without any complications whatsoever. A tandem jump which will either cure you forever from flying or be the start of a new life!

Art Tour of Barcelona with Gaudi and Picasso  -  Register Here

Barcelona is a city with art at every corner and there is something for every taste. For first time visitors there are musts such as the works of the brilliant architect Antoni Gaudí, which can be found all around Barcelona and the art of the world famous painter Pablo Picasso. During tour we will get a closer look at their work, life and legacy.

The World of Olive Oil: Visit & Tasting  -  Register Here

The La Boella Oil Mill is situated in country house from 12th century and is surrounded by a large garden. Built over pre-Romanesque foundations, it has experienced diverse extensions over the centuries which, despite this, have not erased its original architectural traits. Today it is one of the most symbolic and stately houses in the counties of Tarragona.

The oil-producing tradition on the property has evolved until practically all the land, over 150 hectares, is focused on cultivating three varieties of olive – Arbequina, Arbosana & Koroneiki, out of the first two are native of Catalonia and the later one native from Greece but grown in Catalonia.

The tour will take you from the growing process through harvesting till the olive pressing process and bottling. A tasting of different kinds of olive oil will be prepared at the end of the tour.

The World of Wine: Visit to Jean Leon Cellars & Tasting  -  Register Here

Jean León was born in Santander, Spain in 1928 and his real name was Ceferino Carrión. At the age of 19, with just a small suitcase for luggage, he embarked on a long and arduous journey that would take him to Paris, New York and finally to Hollywood. Years later, fortune would lead him to set up in partnership with James Dean to create a world-unique restaurant: ”La Scala” in Beverly Hills. Known and respected in gastronomic and oenological circles, in 1963 he decided to embark on the adventure of creating the wine that would carry his name, Jean León.

This winery, situated at the heart of the Penedés region, combines tradition with the most modern winemaking techniques. It is acknowledged as having been one of the first wineries in Spain to have fermented white wines in oak casks. The visit of the vineyards will be combined with a wine tasting of 4 different wines.

The World of Cava: Visit of Codorniu Cellars & Tasting  -  Register Here

In the Penedés wine area, the “cava-country” we’ll find the cavas of Codorniu. Cava means bodega, or wine cellar. Codorniu is one of the biggest producers of cava in the world. Modern technology and constant investigation and research has placed Codorniu among the best. Even though big and modern, the Cavas Codorniu is rich in tradition. The main building is made by Puig i Cadafalch at the beginning of this century with modernist architecture. The underground cellars are the longest in the world, with more than 30 kilometers of tunnels spread over five levels.

Tour will take you through the vineyards, cava making process and at the end a tasting of 2 Codorniu products.

Visit to La Boqueria Market with Author of the book “Exotic Kitchen" Followed by Cooking Lesson  -  Register Here

We begin the tour of the famous food market La Boqueria situated on world known boulevard La Rambla with the author, hear anecdotes and learn from his experiences around the world. Josep Maria has travelled around the world collecting recipes and upon his return he published an Exotic Kitchen, a recipe book, couple of years ago.  The market experience will be followed by a cooking lesson in a beautiful kitchen space with professional chef. At the end the creations will be tasted by the group!

Leisure Day at Seaside Town - Sitges  -  Register Here

Sitges, a small picturesque village, located on the coast south of Barcelona, only 40 minutes drive from Barcelona. Sitges, is and has always been, an upper-class resort. This is where the Barcelonians have their weekend residence, and the residential area with its mansions and villas are worthwhile a visit. The Maritime Promenade is well kept and a popular spot for either a walk, or bikes and roller-skates. Eventhough only 20 minutes from the airport of Barcelona, no charters or mass tourism invades Sitges, only individuals.

Tapas Workshop in Sitges  -  Register Here

Ripe with the flavours of history and seasoned with the tastes of modern time, Spanish tapas are mouth watering little dishes of delight. The first tapa was a slice of cured ham thrown hastily atop a glass of sherry to keep out the flies. The ham was so popular it gave birth to the tradition of Spanish tapas, literally “lids” or “covers”.

Led by a professional chef Rafael Ortiz, with a long professional path in culinary and wide experience in various cooking techniques and styles, and accompanied by a good Spanish wine, we’ll learn new ways of doing traditional Spanish tapas such “Pincho of Mushrooms and Garlic Prawns “, “Ham Croquettes” etc…. And after all our hard work we will get taste our well deserved (and self made) lunch.

Sailing Regatta  -  Register Here

Guests will gather at the Olympic Port and will be divided in groups of 6-7 guests per boat plus a captain. The skipper of each boat will brief the team and then boats leave the harbour for an hour of ¨training¨ sailing. After this all boats are ready for the regatta! All boats get lined up and with the starting sound, the competition towards the turning buoys and back, can begin. The distance of 1 mile in total must be completed by each boat. A part of the competition is a jury boat which oversees that fair play is in place and will be the judge of the winning team!
